Week 9 - Two months down!!

Hey everyone!

It's been a bitter sweet week! I have had a blast with the lessons
that we have been able to teach. Too bad it won't last long in this
area. That's right, I'm being transferred. Yes that's not normal for
new missionaries to be transferred their first 6 weeks, but it was
necessary.
So this week was a little slow at first. We didn't get out and about
much, but it was still good. Later in the week we had a lesson with
this less active family and it was so awesome! We talked about the
talk I am a Child of God by Elder Hallstrom. I love that talk so much.
It's one of my favorites. That was an awesome lesson, I just felt the
spirit so much.
We also got to see my big "sister" which was cool. We went out to
lunch and had a blast. It was needed because our recent convert Tab
moved to Florida. That's okay though because great things will happen
for him. It was just hard to say good bye.
Not much else really happened this week. Sorry it's a short one. Just
my brain is having a hard time focusing at this time with transfers
and stuff. By the way my new area is Chilhowee and my new companion is
Sister Wright.
I hope you all have an awesome week this week and that you remember
our Savior and all he has done for us. This church is so true and it
blesses lives, I've seen it. I love you all!

Week 8 - Aloha from the South

Hey Family and Friends!

I'm running out of greetings to give to you guys! They don't really
say Aloha here, but I love Hawaii, so I figured that it'd work!

So this week has been alright. We haven't really done much people
wise. Sister Blau has been sick this week, so she slept a lot and I
did my studying a lot and well I'm learning quite a bit from my
studies. The Book of Mormon is so true and it really blesses lives. My
testimony has grown so much because of it. I'm in Alma now and it is
so great. I never really payed attention to the book of Mosiah so that
was great to see it in a new light.

So something that happened this week. Is we did a ton of service! It
is awesome serving other people. It really brings out the positive in
you, especially when you are having a really negative week. Tab our
recent convert told us that he might be moving back to Florida and we
were really bummed because he's basically the only one we are
teaching. Then he told us that he is staying! We were so excited! He
received the Priesthood on Sunday and a calling to be a ward
missionary! Super exciting!

So Sister Blau and I spend a ton of time at the hospital. Not for
ourselves, but for our members. We have been visiting Stephen in the
hospital! He is doing pretty good. He should get out today hopefully!
His wife Ally is not a member and we are teaching her and she told us
that she wants to be baptized. Like the first day I was here, I was
like will you be baptized and she was like yes! So we are hoping when
things settle down we can teach her some more!

Well that's all about what happened this week! Thank you for the
letters and emails! The prayers! Your love and support! I hope all
y'all have a great week! 😜

Week 7 - Howdy from the South!

Hey family and friends!

This week I don't remember most of it! It seems like the days just
mold together and fly by and I can't keep up with it! I do remember
going on exchanges though! I went with Hermana Fowers! She is so funny
and I actually know her grandpa! He does our taxes so that was great!
I went to Sevierville on exchange and it's a Spanish speaking area.
Luckily I didn't have to deal with Spanish until dinner! We ate at the
Enriques and they are so sweet. The parents don't speak much English
though. So my 7th grade Spanish really got put to the test. Let's just
say I failed and I should probably get my money back. I did understand
them though. I just couldn't speak to them very well. They were super
understanding though and way sweet. The South also really knows how to
cook! I am going to gain so much weight, but that's alright half hour
exercise is great in the morning!

Our ward finally has that burning desire to help us with the work!
It's great! still a lot of work to be done, but we are getting there
slowly, but surely. Testimony meeting was awesome! You know how there
are some awkward silences sometimes in the meeting. Well there was
none here! They just kept going and going and we got out of Sacrament
Meeting late! It's a good thing we have another testimony meeting in
two weeks, so I can  bare my testimony too!

Well those were pretty much the highlights of the week! Not much else
went on! I love you all and thank you so much for the love, prayers,
and support! You're the best! Remember the church is true, the book is
blue, and God loves you, and so do I!

This was our pday bbq! It was so much fun! So Sister Blau is taking
the picture with the glasses. Elder Smith is holding the Sun chips
above her. Elder Leech is next to him in the sunglasses and blue shirt
(he's a great cook, well burger flipper). Elder Goldsberry is in the
hamburger shirt and hat. Elder Jepperson is in the gray shirt. Elder
Livingston is in the yellow shirt. Elder Beard (Liam Hemsworth look
alike) is behind me. Then it is yours truly! And that is my district!

Week 6 - General Conference

Hello Fam and friends who are basically Fam!

Well this week there was quite a bit! Especially because it was
General Conference weekend! 😊 I loved General Conference! It was
awesome! But before we get into that I'll tell a little bit about my
week.

Not much really happened. We're still finding people because we don't
really have any investigators. That's okay though. We're working hard!
We did knock on a few doors and let me tell you! Not everyone in the
South is nice! Whoever said that is lying! It was funny though we
knocked on this door and the lady (we could hear everything she was
saying) but she was like don't they know how to use a doorbell!? Being
the smart bum I am I was going to ring the doorbell, but I didn't
think that would go so well. She told her husband not to answer
because it was the good for nothing Mormons. Well ouch we haven't even
met how do you know. Let's just say we didn't stay long in that
neighborhood because that's how most of the people were.

Well that's was the excitement for the week! Now to General
Conference! It was awesome and I learned so much! I'll steal something
Tab told me once about the Book of Mormon. Conference was meant for
me, but y'all just got in on it. 😜 It really felt like it was for me
and I've never had that happen before. There were a few talks that
really stuck out to me, but to keep it short I'll share two.

First, Elder Christofferson's talk on dads! That was awesome! All dads
everywhere are so important! They are not bumble heads like how media
makes them out to be. I remember my dad saying he doesn't like how
media depicts dads and men! I agree! My dad is the greatest man alive!
Sorry everyone else, but it's true. Another great talk was Elder
Holland's. He nailed it! I definitely didn't want today to come. It
reminded me of how I felt in the MTC and how I didn't want to leave.
I've felt a little empty and my comp had to tell me that my spiritual
cup is bigger than it was before so it takes a little more to fill it
than it used to. So I have to do more than just read and pray like
normal. I need to feast and do things that will uplift more!

So that was the week! Love you all and I hope y'all had a great
General Conference! 😊 Have a great week and remember the church is
true, e book is blue, and I love you! 😊💜
