Howdy Y'all! 😊😜😂💜
I just want to take this quick little bit just to say how much I love all of you and how much I appreciate all of you so much! Thanks for all that y'all do for me! Y'all are just the greatest in the world and I am totally, absolutely grateful for every single one of you! Thank you so much for just being you! 😊💜
Now to the week. It has been a roller coaster of emotions and not gonna lie some pretty hard stuff has happened, but because I am Sister Jacob I am not going to dwell upon the negative because I am soooo positive! 😊😂😜
Everyone has always told me never to pray for patience and what do I do? Well I did just that because I like a challenge! 😜😂 It has been interesting to see how Heavenly Father works. I am definitely being shown how patient I really need to be and not gonna lie it's very difficult. Those who know me quite well, know that I am not a patient person when it comes to certain things. (Human stupidity is one of those things that I am not very patient about. 😜😂) All kidding aside though. I have really been trying to learn patience because I know it is definitely something that I need. I want to be the best me I can be and for me to do that I have to be willing to change.
I got an email from my visiting teacher about the message for October and it really helped me a lot and I wanted to share it with all of you!

Prophetic Promise: Facing Trials
“Our Heavenly Father, who gives us so much to delight in, also knows that we learn and grow and become stronger as we face and survive the trials through which we must pass. We know that there are times when we will experience heartbreaking sorrow, when we will grieve, and when we may be tested to our limits. However, such difficulties allow us to change for the better, to rebuild our lives in the way our Heavenly Father teaches us, and to become something different from what we were--better than we were, more understanding than we were, more empathetic than we were, with stronger testimonies than we had before.
“This should be our purpose--to persevere and endure, yes, but also to become more spiritually refined as we make our way through sunshine and sorrow. Were it not for challenges to overcome and problems to solve, we would remain much as we are, with little or no progress toward our goal of eternal life.”
President Thomas S. Monson, “I Will Not Fail Thee, nor Forsake Thee,” Ensign, Nov. 2013, 87.
This week was a big focus on the "rescue". Meaning we need to be there to help those who aren't coming to church as much as we probably all should. Meaning focusing on less actives and those who feel they are lost and alone. I know at some point we have all been where we have felt alone and unloved. We have a loving Heavenly Father and Brother. We also have all those who are in our lives. Friends, family, random strangers, that one pet that listens to you complain about life when you can't tell anyone else. (Shout out to Koda! Thanks buddy! 😊💜🐶)
Learning about the "rescue" made me realize how much of just a member I was at home instead of being a member missionary. I know for sure what I'm going to change. For now though I will help where I am needed most. A lot of things have popped into my mind this week. The "rescue", judging, two word sermon "Stop it", patience, and he who is without sin cast the first stone. Take it as you will, but I have read a lot in the scriptures about judging. I have realized that I have been doing a lot of unrighteous judging and that is definitely not okay! (Yes I am human and I make mistakes, I sin just like every single person on this beautiful planet. 😜) Then it hit me, Christ said to everyone "he who is without sin cast the first stone." Then President Uchtdorf's talk about judging and gossiping and how he said we can solve this by applying two words, stop it. We all sin so differently and who am I to judge a person by what they do. The Atonement is definitely real and I am very grateful for it! We really do have a very loving, patient, kind, amazing Savior! 😊💜
Hopefully all of you got something out of my rambles. Sorry if it was a little much, but I have had a lot on my mind and sometimes I just need to type it out and call it good. Thanks for being there for me and being patient with me!
Remember that the church is true, the book is blue, and I love you! 💜😊 Hope y'all have a fandidalytastic week! Thoughts and prayers for each of you! 😊
Love,
Sister Jacob
